/~welcome to night vale~/

Dear Diary,
It is 1:37 AM and I can not sleep. I sit here contemplating the meaning of the universe, how so many years of terrible acts and wonderful miracles could lead to this one moment. It has been two days since I have gotten any rest, and I fear this book will consume my waking hours as well. No matter how hard I try, I can not get it out of my head. It fills my thoughts and mind, destroying my life. "Why, oh why, did I decide to read this terribly wonderful book," I say to myself. I sigh, turning to look at the book I knew I would open over and over again. I flip to the page marked with a bookmark. It was one of those bookmarks that the school gave you during activities as a reward to try and distract you from the prison known as school. Most people would throw these out the day of or after, but I found such a safe feeling of nostalgia in this flimsy piece of plastic. At the bottom of the bookmark was the name "Dr. Seuss". I frowned, getting a sharpie to mark his name out. "Such a terrible person," I say to seemingly no one, the faceless old woman who secretly lives in your house was probably there though. I then direct my attention the highlighted quote on the page, the paper worn from use. "In terms of tacos, she was doing fine."
"In terms of tacos, she was doing fine."
A tear slips down my face, moved by the poetry. Turning on my side in hope of sleep. Of course, this does not come because I decide to think of the numerous quotes from Welcome to Night Vale.
Diary, I am very tired. But. In terms of tacos, I am doing just fine.
