Jacket in my photodump is a Russian Military VKBO Winter jacket(I believe), it recently came in with a bunch of camping supplies I bought. Wore it all day today and it was very comfy.

Knockout City(LAUNCH) Review

With Summer on the horizon and my high school life coming to a close, my life is going to change, going to college, working 50+ hours a week, etc., I need a game that can take me back. Back to the good old days of Gym Class in middle school and PE in Elementary School. This game is that Nostalgic boost I needed. Dodgeball, its a simple sport and now, its gotten a whole lot cooler, with homing balls, the ability to use your teammates as dodgeballs, and the ability to tackle your enemies makes the once fast-paced classic gym class game even more fast paced.

Aesthetic
This game is very pretty, which is no surprise, considering this game was published by EA, but a pretty game doesn't just make aesthetic, artwork, design, vibe, and music make aesthetic. This game covers that, with a sort of Cyberpunky summer in the 90's aesthetic, it accomplishes that very well, the music is like that of Subway Surfers(which actually isn't too bad, it fits, though music can get annoying.) The announcer's voice is top-notch, character's clothing is designed well to fit both body types, and overall, I really enjoy the aesthetic of this game, it really adds to the fun, its cartoony and not-so serious.

Overall, I feel this game's aesthetic gets a solid 8/10, my main problem with the game being that most of the character's faces are kinda ugly lol. Maps are great looking though.
Gameplay
This game shines in gameplay. Its fucking great, one of the few games I actually was screaming in joy and anger alongside my friends. You throw a ball at someone, they might catch it or get hit. Up-close battles get intense. I can't even put into words how much I enjoy the gameplay of this game. Its just tremendous, with the ability to throw curveballs, lob-shots, and more, you can throw your teammates and blow up your enemies with them, you can get a sniper ball, you can even get a ball that gives you anti-gravity. Its a boatload of fun, especially with friends. Games are 3v3, so they're rather fast paced, especially with the maps being as small as they are. Luckily, maps aren't super small, allowing you to run away like a pansy if you have to. Overall I really like this game, 10/10.

Pay to Win/Battlepasses
Sorta? You can pay for money and shit, but you don't have to. Battle passes are free and you can earn money just by playing, through contracts and stuff. Plus money is only used for boosters and cosmetics, which only gives you XP, which only unlocks more cosmetics.

Performance
Runs well, No lag at all. Im not sure for those with lesser systems, so I won't fully rate this for you guys, but for me it runs well. 10/10. I am able to run this game well on a 2070 super, 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, and an i7 9700k

Overall
At launch, this game is surprisingly good, especially for an EA game, with little to no micro-transactions and hell, no micro-transactions are required. I am excited to see this game going forward and I wish the devs nothing but the best. 9/10, this game is fucking great. Also, try this game out!!! It's free on steam till 5/30.

RIP Kentaro Miura

Just found out this morning that Kentaro Miura died, after 33 years of working Berserk, his chapter in Guts' story draws to an end. I appreciate the stories he told us and the artwork he brought to life. The world has lost a star. Fly High Miura.

Battlefront 2(The New One) Review Part2

A continuation of Part 1 of my Battlefront 2 review! Thanks so much for reading!
Gameplay: Ewok Hunt
Arguably the best gamemode, where you are either Ewok or a Stormtrooper, if you're an Ewok, you must oogabooga the Stormtrooper and beat them to death with your spear. If you're a stinky Stormtrooper, you have to survive to extraction. This gamemode honestly deserves a proximity voice chat. Its difficult to win as a Stormtrooper, but I've been able to do it and honestly it feels really rewarding. Playing as the Ewok is still the best though, you can throw Rocks full of fireflies at the stinky invaders, you can sound the battlehorn, and you can sneak up on them from the shadows and take them out that way. This gamemode was extremely fun, especially among friends and it gets a 10/10, which is partly because there is no real tryharding, its a silly gamemode and everyone who plays accepts that.
Gameplay: Assault
This is imo, the worst gamemode. Its like Supremacy except one faction is defending and the other is attacking and there are no ships to board, all heroes from different era's are there, which to me makes absolutely no sense, X-wings and such dominate on maps like Hoth, and overall I did not have a lot of fun in this gamemode. The people playing it are often very try-hardy people(which makes sense, the gamemode is quick so it doesn't last as long as supremacy, meaning more people are willing to play.) but I just can't stand this gamemode. 3/10.
Sidenote
These are the only 3 gamemodes I played. I have no interest in Heroes and Villains and other gamemodes like Extractions and Starfighter assault, So I won't be reviewing those gamemodes.

Gameplay overall
Gunplay in this game is often from a third person perspective, and to be quite honest, I really enjoy it, its a different take from the common first person POV and really works for this game. I have not noticed a meta(aside from heroes, but even then, you can still kill them), no one class is better than the other. I feel that all classes have the ability to be played well, depending on your play style. The abilities each class have work and feel good, especially the officer's cooldown ability. This game really did a good job with the gameplay and overall I had a lot of fun. Heroes still suck, but that's just how it is, I prefer playing the game from a grunt perspective so I've mainly avoided heroes. Aside from the one shitty gamemode, the game is good, it looks good, it plays good on a good machine, the music is eh? I dont really care much about the music, my friend likes it but I just don't really care. Anyways, overall I really enjoy Battlefront 2. 8/10.

If anyone has a game they'd like me to review or check out comment it down below. I'd be down to try it.

Battlefront 2(The New One) Review Part1

Happy May the 4th.(I know I am late leave me alone.) As is tradition in my friend group, my friends and I got together and played a multiplayer Star Wars game, that being Battlefront 2. Battlefront 2 is a squad based shooter, very much in the vein of the Battlefield games, in fact there are a some similarities, such as spawning on your squad-mate, the ability to get new weapons and add attachments to them, and the large-scale battles. Battlefront 2 captures this with relative ease, which isn't surprising, considering the developer for the game literally develops Battlefield. Battlefront 2 has some issues though, ones I'll review in the topics below.

Performance
This is the main thing. I am able to run this game on a 2060 super, 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, and an i7 9700k. Now, I have experience with this game on an older rig, aka an i5 7600, a 1060 3gb, and 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, if these are the specs that you currently have, or your specs are similar(especially in terms of graphics cards), I really don't think you'll be able to enjoy this game, I tried turning off V-sync and etc to no avail. Of course this was also 3 years ago, I have no idea what new things they've done to try to fix this or if they even cared to do at all, but the experience was not enjoyable back then. Nowadays though I have no issues besides occasional server lag, which is just common. Anyways, performance gets an 7/10.

Gameplay: Supremacy
Honestly the popular gamemode, and for good reason, its a simple Domination-like gamemode, capture the points, gain points, and board the enemy ship, simple AF, but extremely fun to play, especially when you have a good team. Now I've only ever played this gamemode during the Rebellion Era and the Republic Era, both of which I quite enjoy. I never played during First Order era, and tbh I tried getting into a game and was completely unable to, which is not surprising since those movies suck(Im still mad over Finn, would've been such a cool fuckin Jedi), but I digress. This gamemode plays well, the maps are big and well-made, Naboo's city map being my favorite of the bunch. This is where you'll also see a bunch of high levels, people with maxed-out cards and such, which can be annoying(especially the Hero ones), though its easy to ignore if you're playing with friends. Overall I enjoy this gamemode, 9/10.
Sorry I cut this one in half, I hit 4600 characters, check out Part 2.

Hobo: Tough Life Review 2

CHECK PT 1 IF YOU HAVEN'T

Performance
Performance on the other hand. I have a fairly decent PC, I can run Squad at ultra at a solid 100 fps, so I feel pretty good about my PC. This game runs like shit on my PC. I hate motion blur in games, and this game is no exception. Its a lazy cop out to hide performance issues and is an overall obsolete feature in most games, this game included. I turned off motion blur once I found out it was on, and my performance was absolute shit. My character feels like he's stumbling to the right half the time, or not moving right, the game was capped at 100 fps and it feels like my game was running at 20 fps. I like this game, but playing with this performance really drags the game down for me, it feels stuttery and it really shouldn't with my PC's specs. Overall performance really needs some work, its not the worst performance ever, but it is shit, so I'll give it a 3/10.

Survival Features
I really like the skill system in this game. You can build your skills and learn new ones just by doing actions or talking to other hobos. This helps the progression feel like actual progression. As your dumpster diving skill goes up, you are more likely to find cool stuff, as your Begging skill goes up you get a better chance at begging for money, etc. Its simple, but it works and really adds to the game. There are a bunch of things you have to keep track of in this game, such as Illness, Morale(basically sanity), Temperature, Wetness, Drunkenness, Smelliness, Poisoning, and energy. You need to keep some of these high or low in order to stay alive, otherwise, survival can become difficult or you'll end up dead.
Example of Stats
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/779937678266335304/835395281151066152/unknown.png
These stats, paired with the skill system, paired with perks really turn the game great. It helps make it enjoyable. Overall the Survival system is rather intuitive and realistic. You can put on different styles of clothes that help with staying dry and keeping warm. Overall I give this system a 7/10.
Music
The music is kind of a classical style, its depressing sounding and really adds to the aesthetic. I quite like it as its simplicity and lack of bass-y instruments, its mainly string-based instruments or wind instruments. 8/10.
Combat
Combat is rather disappointing, being entirely through text, you can't knock out guards or fight back against thugs without going through turnbased combat, which is rather boring. I hope they end up adding a full combat system, though I highly doubt it.
Overall I was rather disappointed with the combat, so I give it a 2/10, not the worst, but extremely old school and out of place imo.
Overall
Despite being out of early access, this game is very much a work in progress, I hope the Devs continue working on this game and complete it to being fully playable. This game is overall a great idea, but the performance and combat really drag it down. Overall I score this game a solid 5.5/10, for 24.99USD this game is not all that worth it, especially if it ends up as abandonware. I have hopes though that the Devs continue working on this game(I can dream, though they might not pull through) If they continue working on it, I can see this game succeeding more than it already has. Also this game has multiplayer!! The Multiplayer in this game gets a 7/10, its rather fun to be hobos with your pals and to suffer together. It makes the game a tad bit easier, but not by much. The game isn't really optimized for multiplayer, so there are some glitches, combat is still one on one and there is no PVP(Sad I know, I like robbing my hobo friends as much as the next guy.), its still fun to play with your friends and to starve and die of illnesses together, making the multiplayer much better than the singleplayer.
