now the basics there are 3 major types of DID

• Dissociative identity disorder
• Dissociative amnesia
• Depersonalization-derealization disorder

Dissociative amnesia is a type of dissociative disorder that involves the lack of ability to recall important personal information that would not typically be lost with ordinary forgetting. It is usually caused by trauma or stress

The second one is what we have dissociative identity disorder may be called multiple personality disorder cuz many people experience the changes in parts of their identity as completely separate personalities in one body so like the parts of your identity are all part of one personality but they are not joined up or working together as a whole but as a system see why ppl call themselves systems now?? and the different personalities are called alters we'll go through it later

DID is not a personality disorder itz just the result of a natural way of coping with sustained childhood trauma :p

and the last one depersonalization-derealization is a type of dissociative disorder that consists of persistent or recurrent feelings of being detached (dissociated) from one's body or mental processes usually with a feeling of being an outside observer of onez life
