taste of the summer to come
dying of heat stroke

watched a softball game
went to a volleyball game
drove home with a smile

this fake tan i have
comes from a happy bottle
inside, summer scents

snowed again today
being outside melts my fears
happy to be here

in health class again
distracted by the window
white flurries beyond

off from work today
when i get home i'll shovel
what a great workout

distancing myself from others
because i should
wearing my mask above my nose
displays my safety
i wish other people could
do what i do
