Happy May the 4th.(I know I am late leave me alone.) As is tradition in my friend group, my friends and I got together and played a multiplayer Star Wars game, that being Battlefront 2. Battlefront 2 is a squad based shooter, very much in the vein of the Battlefield games, in fact there are a some similarities, such as spawning on your squad-mate, the ability to get new weapons and add attachments to them, and the large-scale battles. Battlefront 2 captures this with relative ease, which isn't surprising, considering the developer for the game literally develops Battlefield. Battlefront 2 has some issues though, ones I'll review in the topics below.
Performance
This is the main thing. I am able to run this game on a 2060 super, 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, and an i7 9700k. Now, I have experience with this game on an older rig, aka an i5 7600, a 1060 3gb, and 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, if these are the specs that you currently have, or your specs are similar(especially in terms of graphics cards), I really don't think you'll be able to enjoy this game, I tried turning off V-sync and etc to no avail. Of course this was also 3 years ago, I have no idea what new things they've done to try to fix this or if they even cared to do at all, but the experience was not enjoyable back then. Nowadays though I have no issues besides occasional server lag, which is just common. Anyways, performance gets an 7/10.
Gameplay: Supremacy
Honestly the popular gamemode, and for good reason, its a simple Domination-like gamemode, capture the points, gain points, and board the enemy ship, simple AF, but extremely fun to play, especially when you have a good team. Now I've only ever played this gamemode during the Rebellion Era and the Republic Era, both of which I quite enjoy. I never played during First Order era, and tbh I tried getting into a game and was completely unable to, which is not surprising since those movies suck(Im still mad over Finn, would've been such a cool fuckin Jedi), but I digress. This gamemode plays well, the maps are big and well-made, Naboo's city map being my favorite of the bunch. This is where you'll also see a bunch of high levels, people with maxed-out cards and such, which can be annoying(especially the Hero ones), though its easy to ignore if you're playing with friends. Overall I enjoy this gamemode, 9/10.
Sorry I cut this one in half, I hit 4600 characters, check out Part 2.
