the brain is weird! i have spent quite some time trying to learn russian (spoiler: it didn't go well and i don't remember like 97% of what i tried to learn) and...my brain refused to memorise basic phrases, but decided that words like Π²Π΅Π»ΠΎΡΠΈΠΏΠ΅Π΄ (bicycle) are very important and that i should remember them.
i mean,, okay? but how often will i use Π²Π΅Π»ΠΎΡΠΈΠΏΠ΅Π΄ in a sentence?
much to think about!
of course, i know a couple (read as: very few) basic words/phrases like ΠΏΡΠΈΠ²Π΅Ρ (hello) and ΠΊΠ°ΠΊ ΠΏΠΎΠΆΠΈΠ²Π°Π΅ΡΠ΅? (how are you?), but noooo. the most important words are words like Π²Π΅Π»ΠΎΡΠΈΠΏΠ΅Π΄ and ΡΡΠΊΡΠ°ΠΊ (backpack).
...i'm glad i at least memorised the cyrillic script back in 2017.
