The Impact of the Internet
Ever since I was a kid, I have loved 90's and early 2000's games, 80's movies, classic rock, and so on. All of my interests now are pretty similar to then. But the biggest impact on my interests and hyperfixations? the freaking internet dude. I didn't really care for the internet until 2014 when I decided to try out Minecraft and looked up tutorials for crafting. It was a complete shock to find out there were millions of videos for me to go through and I sort of got hooked. My whole life changed right there and no that is not an exaggeration. I bet many of you had similar circumstances and it honestly is insane to think about. Ever since 2014, my Youtube recommended had presented me with most of my hyperfixations to this date. Things like Persona 5, Clone High, Minecraft, Musicals, and Overwatch. It is bizarre to believe these were things I had no clue about and then was introduced them through the networkings of the internet. If you have had an experience like this, go ahead and comment! Celebrating the nostalgia and impact of the internet is almost universal nowadays so I would like to hear what made you love the internet when you first found it!
