can you feel my heart

Oh Haiiii!!

tw/disclaimers: strong opinions, 9 f-bombs, mention of suicide and depression

Tonite's blog is gonna sound more like a vent, but it will still spread alternative information!!
So, a lot of my fellow Bring Me The Horizon fans have probably heard of the the spike in popularity of their song "Can You Feel My Heart" on the popular video app TikTok. I wanna share my views on this, so just know that these are MY OPINIONS...

To start: I don't have anything against if you found a song because of TikTok. If you heard it in a video and you liked the song, kudos to you, and welcome to the family.
"Can You Feel My Heart" is my favourite BMTH song. I don't care if it's their most popular (even before Tik Tok), that song got me through some fucking stressful times. Basically, this song means a lot to me. It's also just a straight-up banger...
Now, in the TikToks where the song is being used a lot of it has people jumping on trampolines? Why? "To try to imitate the peaceful deaths of anime characters."
I noticed that a lot of people in the comment section for the YouTube music video are putting some quote from Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan) that isn't relevant to the song.
The people that tick me off the most are the ones that are saying "this song makes me want to jump off a cliff like I'm in an anime"
what the fuck
THIS SONG IS ONE OF THOSE SONGS THAT ARE MORE OR LESS ABOUT NOT DYING AND NOT ENDING YOUR FUCKING LIFE. AND THESE IDIOTS ARE JOKING AROUND SAYING THEY WANT TO JUMP OFF A FUCKING BUILDING CUZ IT'LL BE LIKE AN ANIME.
FUCK YOU.
OTHER actually nice people in the comment section are pointing things out like how it's upsetting to see that this song, which made you weird and uncool if you liked this song back in 2013, is all of a sudden the hottest thing on the internet and you're automatically hip if you like it. I 100% agree!
This song by a band that we were bullied for liking is now being used in fucking anime tiktoks and 'fuck boy/e-boy' tik toks, and that fucking HURTS.

Look, it's cool to see that a hard rock song is getting some good attention by 'normies', but it's in the wrong way, and in poor taste! this fucking hurts..

And if you're one of those 'edgy anime cliff-jumping' tik tokkers, then..I don't know man! Stop, I guess!

Remember, this song helped a lot of us get through some rough and depressive times, and it's not cool to see this song being used in tiktoks that simulate suicide more or less.

Go ahead, do what you want to, use the song, just take this into consideration.

I was only 7 when the song came out, but today it helps a lot.

This song hits when I'm hurt, and that makes me feel better. It hurts knowing the usage of the song in 2021 is no bueno.
