something about the bill and ted films
august 28th you know what that means ITS TIME TO RENT BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC BAYBEEEEEE
i love excellent adventure so much. fun fact its my favorite film. the way i watched it was so stupid though, bc i found this slightly zoomed in slightly sped up slightly darkened filter version of it that was claiming to be the trailer for the film on youtube sometime in 8th grade. the upload has been taken down now obviously but i legit just watched all of this movie over the course of two days on my dinky little iphone 4s (or maybe my lg g4, but i think i still had the iphone at the time). ive never been good about shutting up about my interests so my friends were plagued with me spouting lines from excellent adventure and bogus journey, as well as me begging them to watch it because its that dope man just trust me the movies are that good. looking back at this now i realize that this was (likely) unchecked adhd and me just being super interested in something... but the point was just that i really loved those films. i did the same shit with waynes world btw i didnt plug the second movie though because that one sucked and still does suck tbh
as you can imagine, 13 year old me was desperate to find out more info about the franchise, so that led me to finding a bunch of bill and ted fansites. the most noteworthy one was billandted.org though. for one, that one was still being maintained. for another, there was so much archived on that site about the films, the shows, and even more obscure material like a musical based off the series. this blew my mind, like, holy shit theres so much content about my favorite movie on this website. the thing that i find most interesting about the site though was the fact that they actually had a page under the movies tab about a potential third film. for a veeeery long time, bill and ted 3 has been stuck in production hell. its been rumored that a version of the movie ended up becoming the film bio-dome (thats pretty fucking insulting ngl) but that simply wasnt true. around 2010 is when it was rumored that the film would actually begin production sometime soon. that was the first, but certainly not the last, time that the start of production would be brought up. from that point on it would be hell for production to actually start. it was definitely still in the air as to when production would start when i found out about the film, which i believe was late 2015/early 2016. so eventually hearing that the film had finally started production was a holy shit what year is it moment. and from that day forth i promised myself that i would see it in theatres...
well, i think the comfort of my own home is fine. at least we have microwavable popcorn here
